Many mainstream music listeners may not know about Aventura. However, this week the Bachata boys are making history by not only out selling the new avant garde sensation Lady Gaga, but they’re also the first Latino group ever to snag four dates at New York City’s Madison Square Garden with shows two shows in January and two shows on Feb. 1 and 2; putting them in a league with the likes of Madonna.

While Aventura toplines the 19,000-strong Madison Square Garden, Lady Gaga is performing down the street at Radio City Music hall, a 6,000 capacity venue, for an equal number of shows.  That puts Aventura on track to sell more than three times the number of tickets La Gaga can.

By that measure, it may seem odd that, of the two, it’s Gaga who gets all the press. To that,Romeo had this to say:

“We don’t mind that she’s treated differently. We’re in a different world. Artists (like Lady Gaga) have a major label and lots of marketing behind them. But it’s even more exciting for us to know that we’re accomplishing these things without having that machine.”

For 21 weeks, Aventura’s most recent CD, “The Last,” has sat atop Billboard’s Latin Music Chart, spawning three No. 1 singles while supporting a tour that ranks among the three top-grossing road shows of ‘09, right behind Miley Cyrus’ and Britney Spears’.

With this type of success, rumors of a crossover album plague the Bronx born Bachata crooners.Romeo weighed in on the ongoing controversy:

“Personally I would never separate Spanish and English. I don’t want to say we don’t care about a crossover. But we’re not saying ‘Oh, we got to do it.’ We’re doing things that, honestly, a lot of Anglos can’t — like four Garden shows. For us, that’s enough.” (NYDailyNews)

Relief has been pouring in for the impoverished island of Haiti in wake of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the nation’s capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. And while we’ve heard dozens of stories on the 2 million and counting that Wyclef, one of the country’s most famous exports, has raised through his organization Yele Haiti, we’ve heard very little on what some of our favorite artistas Latinos are doing to help.

Wisin y Yandel have reached deep in their pockets to donate to the victims of Haiti. The duo have given $100,000 to a Haitian orphanage, and another $100K towards the purchase of generators to help restore electricity to the devastated nation.

Aventura are also donating big bills! A whopping $25, 000 to their relief organization of choice, the American Red Cross. The Bachata quartet will also have Red Cross volunteers accepting donations on-site at their 4 Madison Square Garden concerts over the next two weeks.

Ricky Martin isn’t just writing a check; he’s heading to Haiti! Our favorite humanitarian boarded a plane to Port-au-Prince today, and plans on providing as much on the ground assistance as possible.

Belinda is doing her part as well, and has taped a special PSA for the Red Cross. The segment is meant to motivate and inspire the Mexican public and others to donate and give to the relief fund in Haiti. (LatinGossip)

La primera información citada tiene muy consternados a los fans de esta celebridad, situación que, sin embargo, se atenuó cuando según otra encuesta difundida en el mismo portal, en la que participaron cerca de 300 mil internautas, arrojó que Megan es también “La más sexy”.

Para consuelo de los admiradores de la bella actriz, una conocida revista para caballeros a nivel internacional la colocó a la cabeza de las 100 mujeres más sexys de 2009.

Tal parece que a Megan Fox le perjudica ser bella, pues luego de haber hecho una atrevida sesión fotográfica, para una conocida revista estadounidense, publicación que a final de cuentas decidió no darlas a conocer, por lo que Megan se atrevió a subirlas a Internet para disfrute de sus fans.

A mediados de 2009 se dio a conocer la intención de constituir un boicot para dar paso al Primer Día Internacional sin Megan Fox, y que no se publicara nada sobre ella, pues se consideró que estaba más que sobrexpuesta.

Por otro lado, finalmente se sabe que “Transformers 3″, se estrenará en cines a nivel mundial, el 21 de julio de 2011, y que para esa película, dirigida por Michael Bay, Megan Fox estará nuevamente como protagonista.

La puertorriqueña fue la estrella en el concierto de Año Nuevo en Nueva York, quien hizo su aparición minutos después de recibir el 2010. El show de la también actriz fue presenciado por miles de personas que asistieron al centro de la Gran Manzana para recibir el 2010 en donde a pesar del frío, López llevó un outfit súper sexy.

Como ya es tradición, año con año se reúnen en Times Square tanto las personas que viven ahí como los que deciden ir a vacacionar y empezar con una magna celebración el año.
