Colombian singer Fanny Lu has been named the new ambassador for the United Nations (ONU) and the Organization of Agriculture and food (FAO).

During a recent interview with People En Espanol, Fanny Lu said, “I’m excited to be a part of this new incentive to fight world povery and hunger.”

Los Premios MTV 09′ had lots of surprises, energy and emotion! The Mexican group, Panda, received three awards: best group, duet and best alternative artist, even taking the win from the powerful duet with the most nominations of the night, Wisin and Yandel, who had to settle for two awards out of their six nominations: best artists of the year and best video for “Abusadora”.

Paulina Rubio was nominated in five categories and took the award home for Best Soloist. The group Reik took the award for the best pop artist and Zoe - the sweethearts of the night took home the best rock artist award. Congrats to all the winners!!
