
Luis Fonsi, whose single “No Me Doy Por Vencido” is in its 38th week on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, will tour nine U.S. cities between April and June on the first leg of his “Palabras del Silencio” stateside tour.
Fonsi will make an appearance in San Francisco, LA, Houston, Dallas, Sacramento, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, and Miami.
Fonsi, whose latest single “Aqui Estoy Yo” is at No. 9 on the chart this week, will also play at least 20 dates in Spain in May and June.

The lovely Cubanita, Eva Mendes, has left the Sinaloa, MX location of her new film, “Queen of the South” due to death threats. Eva’s new film is about the murder of a cocaine smuggler. With all the tension going on in Mexico, the decision to bring production to a halt was a good one.

La chica dorada is out with her first new single “Causa Y Efecto”. Fans will love “Causa Y Efecto” because it’s bubbly and very catchy. Paulina is scheduled to perform her new material at the 2009 Premios Billboard de la Música Latina, on April 23, 2009, on Telemundo. Her new album is due out in June.

Last night Miami sizzled with our hot Latino talent, who were there for Premio Lo Nuestro. It was a true pleasure to watch Enrique and Wisín y Yandel perform Enrique’s hit song “Lloro Por Tí”.

One of the night’s biggest winners was Juanes who took home 3 awards for Canción del Año, Artista del Año and Álbum del Año. Jenni Rivera won 2 awards for Artista Femenino del Año and Artista Banda del Año. Let’s not forget Wisín y Yandel who won 2 awards for Álbum del Año and for Artista Urbano del Año.

On the red carpet singer Fanny Lu was escorted by the handsome Wilmer Valderrama and the wild Alejandra Guzmán came to the event with her boyfriend, which his name has not been revealed. Congrats to all the winners!

Spanish singer Alex Ubago is back with his new romantic album Calle llusión, which features 13 love songs. Alex is ready to hit the stage, since it has been 8 years since he last released new substance. I’m loving the whole album.

Goal! star Kuno Becker has a new look and a new movie coming out this year. For his role as Christian in La Ultima Muerte the Mexican actor Kuno Becker shaved his head and lost approximately 26 pounds. Talk about a demanding job!

President Barack Obama will make history tonight when he delivers a bilingual message of hope and his civic duties to the Latino community during Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina. This is the first time that a president will give a speech during a spanish language award show. Premio Lo Nuestro celebrates Latinos elite music talent and fills the house with the most exceptional Latin stars. Premio Lo Nuestro is one of the biggest music award ceremonies in the Hispanic community and viewed by millions, it’s no wonder Mr. Obama is using this particular event to get in touch with Latinos in the Untied States. The show airs live tonight at 8/7 central from the Bank United Center in Miami, on Univisión.
